Diya Aur Baati Hum: Show Ends On A Sad Note; Viewers Bid A Tearful Adieu To Sooraj & Sandhya!

Star Plus' popular show bid farewell to its viewers on 10 September, 2016 on a sad note. As we had reported earlier, the 'ideal couple' Sooraj and Sandhya (Deepika Singh' became victims of the bomb blast.

As a result, the couple met a fateful death. Its been a week since the show has gone off-air and we are very sure that the loyal fans of the show must be misisng the show already!

Bhabho In Tears

In the last episode, Bhabho, who is unaware of the fact that Sandhya and Sooraj have become human bombs arrives to welcome the couple with aarti. Sooraj and Sandhya inform Bhabho that they are going away from her. She looks at them, confused.

Babasa breaks his silence and tells her the truth. Bhabho stands still. Sandhya and Sooraj pour their feelings out and asks her to bless them, but she breaks down and runs away inside the house instead.

The police officers salute Sooraj and Sandhya for their bravery. They bid final goodbye to the family and run on the streets of the city before the bamb blast occurs, to save innocent people from dying.

Sooraj and Sandhya run on the streets of Pushkar, away from the crowd as only a few minutes are left before the bomb explodes.

Sooraj Fulfills His Promise

Sooraj and Sandhya manage to escape from the crowd. While doing so, a thorn pricks Sandhya's foot. Sooraj fulfills his promise of removing obstacles from her path and carries her in his arms.

Sooraj-Sandhya Recall Marriage Vows

They reach a lonely place. With only a few minutes left for their end, they recall all the marriage vows and step on a platfrom, which takes them to a centre of a lake.

Bomb Blast

heir family tearfully arrives to see the couple for one last time. Within seconds, a bomb blast occurs. The show ends with Sooraj and Sandhya's sacrifice.

Here, we bring you the glimpses of the finale episode of the cult show. Terrorists take Sandhya and Sooraj's daughter, Kanak as hostage and order the couple to eat a tablet, if they want to see their daughter fine.

The couple consume the tablet. It is later revealed that, the tablet is not an ordinary one, but a lethal bomb capable of turning the entire city into a graveyard! The couple meets the entire family to tell them a final goodbye.

During their final moments, the Sooraj thanks Sandhya for supporting him. They hold each other's hands and smile. Their entire family arrive. Bhabho blesses both of them.

The bomb explodes and the couple die a fateful death. Thus, the show ends with Sooraj and Sandhya's sacrifice for the nation.

News of Diya Aur Baati Hum season 2 is in the air already. Apparently, actress Niti Taylor is being finalised for the new season and actors Iqbal Khan and Avinash Rekhi are being considered for the male lead.
