The very talented Sunil Grover needs no introduction. Yes, we are talking about everyone's favourite 'Gutthi' from Comedy Nights With Kapil. This supremely talented artist is celebrating his birthday today, Aug 3.

But, not many of them are aware of the fact that, Sunil, who is enjoying all the success and fame today, once upon a time, he struggled to find a foothold in the TV industry. Tough to believe, isn't it?

He is an artist par excellence and we believe that, there is nothing that he cannot do. Apparently, he was introduced to the world of television by the late comedian, Jaspal Bhatti in his show, 'Full Tension'.

Post this show, the comedian has tried his luck in various other shows, but didn't find any success. Then, Sunil worked as an RJ for sometime.

Sunil then bounced back on television with a show titled 'Kya Aap Paanchvi Fail Champu Hain?'. This show was a parody of actor Shah Rukh Khan's show 'Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?'

Sunil not only copied SRK on the game show, but also wore the same clothes as the superstar. The show turned out to be a failure.

Finally, the door of success opened for this talented artist with Kapil Sharma's show, Comedy Nights With Kapil. His portrayal of 'Gutthi' has won the heart of millions. His comic timing has left the audience in splits and yet leaves them wanting for more.

It is CNWK which gave this actor, a much deserved success and instant fame. With this show, he proved his mettle as an actor. Due to some differences with Kapil, he quit the show and came up with his own show, 'Mad In India', but it didn't garner much TRPs.

He was once again welcomed on CNWK as Kapil's father-in-law. Sunil is now seen on The Kapil Sharma Show, as Dr. Mashoor Gulati.
