Parched
Actress
Tannishtha
Chatterjee
is
extremely
upset
with
the
show
Color's
show
Comedy
Nights
Bachao.
The
actress
was
invited
as
a
guest,
but
she
stormed
out
of
the
show
as
she
was
offended
by
repeated
jibes
about
her
complexion.
Apparently,
she
was
described
as
a
'kaali
kalooti'
and
asked
if
she
has
been
eating
'jamun'
since
childhood.
She
took
to
her
Facebook
account
to
express
her
views.
In
her
post,
she
wrote
that
the
roast
began
with,
"Aap
ko
jamun
bahut
pasand
hoga
zaroor...
kitna
jamun
khaya
aapne
bachpan
se?"
She
said,
"I
could
not
believe
I
was
sitting
in
a
nationally
televised
comedy
show
in
2016
in
Mumbai
amid
such
regressive(
I
cant
call
it
humor),
and
blatantly
racist
content.
Though
I
was
feeling
suffocated,
I
decided
to
give
it
another
chance,
and
sat
through
another
equally
offensive
segment.
Nothing
changed.
I
could
not
sit
there
anymore.
I
had
to
leave.
(sic)"
When
the
actress
told
the
organisers
what
she
felt,
they
said,
"But
we
told
you
it
is
a
roast!"
She
further
said
in
her
post,
"I
explained
to
them
the
common
perception
of
roast
and
how
it
is
different
from
bully.
That
there
is
no
humor
value
in
a
joke
about
some
ones
physical
attributes
especially
one
that
stems
from
deep
prejudices.
I
don't
think
they
got
it."
Well,
this
is
not
the
first
time
that
the
show
is
in
news
for
such
racist
comment.
Previously,
we
had
reported
about
Bollywood
actor
Akshay
Kumar
losing
his
cool
as
a
host
passed
a
racist
comment
on
Lisa
Haydon,
calling
her
a
'black
African'.
But
later,
the
hosts
of
the
show
denied
the
reports.
Recently,
there
was
news
that
the
roast
comedy
on
the
show
will
be
revamped.
But,
with
the
current
incident
looks
like
the
makers
haven't
learnt
a
lesson
-
'roast
comedy'
is
not
everybody's
cup
of
tea!
