Karthika As Devsena
Tamil actress Karthika Nair will be seen playing the role of Devsena, while Tanuja will be seen making her small screen debut at the age of 73.
Tanuja As Hahuma
Tanuja plays the protector of the throne. She will be seen playing Hahuma. In the promo, she is seen in a black dress, with snakes behind her!
In the promo, Hahuma will be seen telling as to how the people are their strength and how the same people become their weakness.
Devsena will be seen fighting with her emotions. Devsena will be seen fighting with her emotions. She says to herself, "Jis sinhasan ne meri maa ko mujhse cheen liya, uss sinhasan ke liye apne pita ko nahi kho sakti."
Tanuja Talks About Her Role In Aarambh
Talking about her role, Tanuja said, "I am playing the role of Hahuma. This role is distinctive in many ways. She is basically clairvoyant, who can see the future. She can't predict future, she can just give suggestions."

Karthika Nair was quoted by Daily Bhaskar as saying, "Character of Devsena has been an extremely beautiful and strong girl. She is gracious and adventurous at the same time."
Karthika Has Worked Hard For The Show
She added, "I have done many south movies but for the character of Devsena I have done a hard work. It is completely acting scene at the beginning of the story. It's a female oriented show."
Karthika Talks About Shooting
Karthika further said, "Sometime it was difficult to shoot because at the beginning, we were shooting a war scene in this heat. It is very difficult to shoot in this summer season."
KV Vijayendra Prasad, The Writer Of Aarambh
The show which is written by KV Vijayendra Prasad of Baahubali, will narrate the clash of the Dravidian and Aryans civilisations.
Tanuja was quoted by IANS as saying, "Aarambh is a different show as its story is unique. The basic topic that this show highlights is the matriarchal society during Dravidian clans. During that time, the ruler was the queen and everybody used to obey to her decisions."
Film-maker Goldie Behl, who is directing the show, said, "Vijender Prasad conceived this show. He did research and interactions on various topics."
He added, "Once he narrated the story to me, then I thought it's a great concept and that's how we decided to make a series on it."
Writer Vijayendra Prasad was quoted by Daily Bhaskar as saying, "This is a creation of a parallel world of heroism."
He added, "My story of Devsena will be the first and only narration of a woman so strong that she could rule the world of patriarchy by knowledge and sword. This is the only project which has brought me to the small screen." (With IANS Inputs)
