Indian Idol 7: Manya Narang Gets Evicted; Rohit's Soulful Performance Leaves Sonu Nigam Teary-eyed
Manya Narang gets evicted from Indian Idol 7. Rohit, who crooned the superhit song, 'Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin' left Sonu Nigam, in tears.
The popular musical reality show on Sony, Indian Idol 7 has been entertaining the audiences with its powerful performances and cameraderie between the judges. On Saturday (Feb 18), the contestants paid tribute to National award winning director, Vishal Bharadwaj.
Yesterday (Feb 19), Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut who visited the sets of the show, to promote their upcoming film, Rangoon. Read on to know more...
Vishal Bharadwaj & Rekha
Vishal Bharadwaj and singer wife Rekha visited the sets of the muscial reality show, Indian Idol. The contestants sang in pairs and floored the guests with their powerful performances.
The Powerful Performances
Of all the performances, Vishal Bharadwaj was in awe of Tajinder Singh and Mohit Chopra's rendition of Omkara title track. He also admired the rendition of 'Naina thag lenge' by RP Shravan and Rohit. Shravan's classical singing also impressed Rekha Bharadwaj.
Manya Narang Gets Eliminated
The contestants Malvika, RP Shravan and Manya were the bottom 3 contestants and Manya couldn't make it to top 7 and was evicted from the show. It has to be recalled that Manya re-entered the show, as a wildcard contestant.
Shahid, Saif & Kangana
Yesterday, The Rangoon cast visited the sets of the show. The host of the show, Karan Wahi welcomed the Ranggon cast. Shahid and Saif revealed their funny side when they played a prank on Karan, leaving him speechless.
Malvika's Classical Performance
Malvika's classical rendition of 'Ami Je Tomar' impressed both the special guests and the judges. Kangana took an instant liking Malvika. The contestant, who belongs to South India is not fluent in Hindi. Yet, this does not reflect in her songs. This quality was admired by Kangana and reminded of her early days, when she was not fluent in Hindi.
Khuda Baksh Asked To Romance Kangana
Post his performance on 'Dard-E-Disco' song, Farah Khan requested Kangana to give romance tips to Khuda Baksh, who is very shy by nature. Kangana went on the stage and guided him to enact a romantice scene from Rangoon with her. But, he failed to enact the scene.
Kangana's Request For Sonu Nigam
Kangana showed her singing skills by humming a few lines of the song, 'Bloody Hell' from her upcoming film. Not only that, she revaled that she has a secret crush on Sonu Nigam and the singer couldn't stop blushing. She requested him to sing 'Main Hoon Deewana' for her and Sonu fulfilled her wish.
Rohit's Soulful Performance
Rohit, who crooned the superhit song, 'Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin' left Sonu Nigam, who is the original singer of the song, was bowled over by his performance and was in tears.
Revanth picked up a perfect romantic song - 'Gerua' for the evening and sang it to perfection. Later, Shahid joined Revanth and together, they sang 'Dhan Te Nan' from Kaminey.
Revanth was also praised for his earlier performances this week, when he sang the 'Beedi' song along with Manya. Not only that, he sang a few lines of his song, 'Manohari' from Bahubali.
The highlight of the evening was Shravan's classical performance for a song composed by RD Burman, which left everyone spellbound. The Rangoon trio had a gala time on the sets of the show and Saif showed his guitar skills by strumming a few strings on the stage, much to the joy of the audience.
