‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon...Ek Baar Phir’ Director Waseem Sabir Dead; TV Actors Shocked!

Popular and talented director Waseem Sabir's death has shocked the television industry.

According to reports, the director tripped at his home on January 1, Sunday, and hurt his head. He was immediately rushed to a hospital. But, the injuries to his brain were too severe and he died the next day (2 January).

Apparently, his brother is yet to fly down from the Middle East, post which the last rites will be performed. Ridhi Dogra, Gautam Rode, Geetanjali Tikekar and other Television celebrities were in a shock over the director's death. They took to social media to express their grief. Read on...

"Mera bhai meri jaan RIP🙏Tu Jahan bhi rahe Kush rahe..will always love u mere bhai..Kahin naa kahin zaroor milenge."

Geetanjali Tikekar

Geetanjali Tikekar changed her profile picture to 'black' expressing her grief over the director's death. She wrote, "I'll miss you Waseem, my friend, confidante and mentor. RIP."

Kiran Karmarkar

Kiran Karmakar took to social media to express his grief. He shared a picture and wrote, "और क्या कहू ... RIP Waseem Sabir ..."

Harsh Vasishth

Harsh Vasishth, who was last seen in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera, wrote, "Waseem Sabir R.I.P. bhai....The best we had in TV ....God give strength to the loved ones....You will be missed Waseem bhai :("

Ruhana Khanna

Ruhana, who was seen in Gangaa, wrote, "Ever since I came to Mumbai ,for me the word Director means only WASEEM SIR. He held my hand and took me to the skies. He had given me so much love and affection that it really hard to believe and gulp that he is no more among us. Waseem sir you will be always missed by me and all of us. I can't stop crying by thinking whom will I wish 'good morning sir' now. Please come back sir until then I will close my eyes and see you whenever I want to."

Raqesh Bapat

Raqesh and Ridhi, who were close to Waseem were also shattered with the shocking news. Raquesh shared a picture and wrote, "Not done Bro. U can't leave this way. Not fair WS."

Ridhi Dogra

Ridhi wrote a lengthy note on her Facebook page. She also shared a few pictures with Waseem. She wrote, "Thanku for coming into our lives Waseem sir " "Thanku for teaching me so much. Forever indebted to you beautiful soul ❤️""I had so much more to learn from you ❤️."

Rohit Raj

Rohit Raj Goyal also shared a picture snapped with Waseem and wrote, "Waseem Sabir jii missed you. ..RIP."

Karan Wahi

"Will miss u waseem bhai... @imwaseemsabir so much to tell u ... RIP bhai ..till we meet again."

Apparently, Waseem was Gautam Rode's best friend. Raqesh and Ridhi who were close to Waseem were also shattered with the shocking news.

Waseem Sabir was a part of the popular shows like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon...Ek Baar Phir, Gangaa, Tamanna and Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera.

Last year (2016), Waseem had hurt himself on the sets of Tamanna while overseeing the rehearsals. A source was quoted by a leading daily as saying, "During the rehearsals, the leading lady, Anuja was teaching her neighbour's children to play cricket in the sequence."
The source further added, "Our director was busy analysing the shot when Anuja swung the bat missing the ball completely. It accidentally landed on Waseem sir's elbow, and injured it badly. He had to be rushed to a doctor instantly."

Waseem's death is indeed a big loss for television industry. May his soul rest in peace.
