We had already reported about Beyhadh sets catching fire, while the team was shooting for Maya and Arjun's wedding sequence. It was an unfortunate incident, where all the three actors - Kushal Tandon, Jennifer Winget and Aneri Vajani escaped, but suffered minor injury.
The actors also updated about the incident on the social media and thanked for their prayers. Kushal was also asked by a few fans on social media if it was a publicity stunt, but the actor gave befitting reply to them! Kushal suffered burns on his neck, hands and legs, while Jennifer too suffered minor burn on her back.
He was quoted by the leading daily as saying, "When I saw the entire mandap in flames, I first rushed out. Then I saw that Jennifer's lehenga had caught fire and she was standing there hiding her face. She was scared that if she also ran out, she would fall and suffer bigger injuries."
He further added, "In that fraction of second, I ran inside again and pulled her out. While I tried dowsing the fire on her 'lehenga', I got burnt and Aneri (Vajani) helped put out the fire on me. I know it sounds filmy when we narrate the incident, but thankfully we are all safe."
Jennifer said, "The only reason I just stood there was because I thought if I would panic my entire wedding ensemble would catch flames. I figured one of the action directors would step in. But surprisingly, Kushal saved me."
Aneri was quoted by the leading daily as saying, "Within a few seconds, the entire mandap collapsed. Had it not been for Kushal's presence of mind, anything could have happened."
Beyhadh is aired on Sony TV at 9 PM.
