Helly hails from a Gujarati family. She began her acting career when she was in the 8th grade. Her first show was Gulaal in which she played the role of Talli. The show which was aired on Star Plus, also starred Manasi Parekh Gohil and Neil Bhatt.

The actress did a series of shows - Alaxmi - Humari Super Bahu, Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi and Khushiyon Kii Gullak Aashi.
Helly aka Swara became the household name with the Colors show, Swaragini. Helly's pairing with Varun Kapoor, who played the role of Sanskar, was most loved by the audiences. Fans have nick-named the couple as 'SwaSan'. Recently, the couple also won an award (Colors Golden Petal Awards) in the 'Favourite Jodi' category.
