The loyal viewers of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai were upset when the lead actor of the show Karan Mehra, who played the role of Naitik, quit the show. They were shocked as well as angry/upset when another lead actress Hina Khan, who played the role of Akshara, also, quit the show!
After Hina's exit, the viewers didn't want to see their favourite show without their favourite actress. They even decided to boycott the show. They even thought the show's TRPs might drop. Many things were said against Hina, but she remained silent over the issue.

Rajan had said that the show has grown post Hina and Karan's exit. He even added that the show has freshness after the lead actors left the show.

He had even said, "There is a positivity with the team. Frankly, earlier we didn't have time with the leads, everyone was going crazy. We were not able to shoot, writers were not able to write."

"We were not aware of what we were going to shoot the next day because of the excess baggage the actors carried with them that people were not even able to shoot."
Hina Upset With Rajan's Remarks
Hina and Karan were upset with Rajan's statement. In an interview to the leading daily, Hina reacted to Rajan's statement, "I don't want to get into this blame game. Well, he can say whatever he wishes to."
Hina Was A Part Of YRKKH For 8 Years
Hina added, "Everybody has the right to express, but being a producer, why was he quiet when we were part of the show for eight long years? During that time, he went on record to praise both of us for our dedication and professionalism."
Hina Says They Were Loyal To The Producer!
"And honestly, we were probably the only lead pair on television who continued to be with the show for eight consecutive years. Despite the work pressure, disagreements and other work opportunities, we continued to stay loyal to the show and supported the producer."
Hina Says It's Heartbreaking!
She further added, "We never spoke ill about the producer, the production house or the show, but it's heartbreaking that the most senior person from the production house stoops down to this level. People can always choose what to say and what not to."
Karan
Karan was also associated with the show for eight long years. Even after coming out of Bigg Boss, he has been in touch with Rajan. He felt those statements were not for him!
Karan Feels Rajan Is Referring To Someone Else!
Karan said, "If he is saying that I worked for two-three hours, he is referring to someone else because my attendance register is the proof."

He further added, "Also, I gave my notice period in advance. I don't know who he has a grudge against and why is he saying it now?"
Karan chose not to comment anymore. He concluded by saying, "I am happy in my space and looking forward to new beginnings. I am not in touch with him anymore and I can't keep commenting on other people's grievances. All I can say is, 'To each his own'."
Rajan had not reacted, even when Hina Khan's tantrums rumours were doing the rounds. During those days, he had even said that Hina was supportive, denying all rumours against Hina! We wonder why he made these comments now!
Hina and Karan were indeed the heart and soul of the show. It was really disheartening to read Rajan's comments against Karan and Hina, who have given their eight long years for the show.
The show's TRP had dropped drastically post Hina's exit. But, now the show has found its place on the TRP charts, all thanks to Kartik and Naira's track!
