Shama was quoted by the entertainment portal as saying, "During the initial days of my career, when I was 14, a director put his hand on my thigh. I, immediately said no and shook him off. He told me, 'You think, you are going to be a star yaha koi nahi chodega tumhe. If not a director, an actor or producer might exploit you. You cannot grow without that'."
Shama Was Shattered
Yeh Meri Life Hai actress says that after this incident she was shattered and heartbroken. She added, "I was a 14-year-old who came with big aspirations and dreams."
Shama On Alok-Vinita Controversy
When asked about her reaction to Alok Nath and Vinita Nanda's controversy, she said, "It was quite shocking for me. I haven't worked with him and heard of such instances." She added that now that people are opening up and sharing the incidents, we have to listen to them.
Shama Slams People Who Questioned The Survivors
Also, she pointed out that people tend to judge the actors with on-screen image and do not think that the person has more to him/her. Further, the actress applauded people who have shared their ordeals. She also slammed people who questioned the survivors by calling them dumb!
Shama On Shilpa’s Comment
The actress agreed with Shilpa Shinde's comment and said that it is the truth of the industry. She also said that people do not understand the meaning of ‘consent' here.
