Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar became popular with her show Swaragini in which she was seen playing the role of Ragini. She had both positive and negative shades on the show. Post the show, she went on to do Shashi-Sumeet's Pehredaar Piya Ke, which received a lot of criticism because of the bold concept of the show. She worked with the same production in Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, which was said to be the second season of PPK! The show was also shut down as it didn't receive good ratings. Now, the actress is seen in Shashi-Sumeet's mythological show, Karn Sangini, where she plays the role of Urvi.
Tejaswi has already impressed the viewers and the fans are loving her looks as well as performance on the show. The actress says that she is excited as she is attempting the genre for the first time!
The actress was quoted by IE as saying, "Honestly, I want to do everything that is there to do in the industry. I have done a grey shaded character and even romanced a younger guy (laughs). I also think it's the right time for me to explore and experiment. So I am really excited about this new start."
The actress adds that she will never get stereotyped in the mythological/historical genre. She told the leading daily, "I don't think I can ever be typecast. In my career span, I have done some really different roles. And I am so happy that the audience has accepted me in all of them. So they are used to seeing me attempt challenging roles. And rather than identifying me as the characters, the audience knows me as Tejasswi. That's really a big achievement for me."
Regarding the show, Karn Sangini, the actress says, "We have been blessed with a great team. Also, it's a beautiful story that completely revolves around me. I must add it's always nice to do the title role. Not much has been said and written about Uruvi and so it's intriguing. It has been inspired by the novel 'Karna's Wife-The Outcast's Queen'."
"There is a lot more about her than just being a wife. It is a very special story and I am sure the audience will enjoy knowing about her. Since it is a contemporary take to the mythological tale, people will relate to it easily."
Karn Sangini is the show that is produced by Shashi-Sumeet Mittal, who are the producers of her last shows, Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya and Pehredaar Piya Ki. When asked whether she signed the show while doing RLHM, she said, "No, it came after that. After we collaborated on Pehredaar Piya Ki, they told me that they want to do the next show with me."
