Dilip
Chhabria,
the
founder
of
DC
Design
Studio
was
arrested
by
the
Mumbai
Police,
after
a
case
of
cheating
and
forgery
was
filed
against
him.
As
per
the
latest
report,
comedian-actor
Kapil
Sharma
has
been
called
for
inquiry
today
(January
7,
2021)
by
API
Sachin
Vaze
(Crime
Intelligence
Unit-CIU),
Mumbai
regarding
fake
registered
cars
seized
by
Mumbai
Police.
According
to
Mumbai
Police,
Kapil
had
filed
a
complaint
against
the
car
designer
for
allegedly
cheating
him.
He
has
been
called
to
record
his
statement
as
a
witness.
A
couple
of
hours
ago,
ANI
tweeted,
"Comedian
Kapil
Sharma
has
been
summoned
by
Crime
Branch
of
Mumbai
Police
for
his
statement
in
connection
with
car
designer
Dilip
Chhabria's
alleged
cheating
and
forgery
case:
Mumbai
Police." ANI
further
tweeted,
"Kapil
Sharma
had
filed
a
complaint
against
car
designer
Dilip
Chhabria
for
allegedly
cheating
him.
Now
he
has
been
called
to
record
his
statement
as
a
witness:
Mumbai
Police."
According
to
DNA
report,
Kapil
had
given
money
to
Dilip
to
build
his
vanity
van
but
had
later
registered
a
case
with
the
police,
as
the
latter
did
not
get
the
work
done.
Kapil
Sharma
claimed
that
he
was
duped
of
Rs
5.7
crore
by
Dilip
Chhabria
after
promising
the
comedian
to
deliver
a
customised
vanity
van.
According
to
TOI
report,
Kapil
Sharma
had
filed
a
complaint
with
the
economic
offences
wing
(EOW)
in
September
2020,
alleging
that
he
had
ordered
a
customised
vanity
van
in
2017
and
paid
Dilip
a
total
of
Rs
5.7
crore,
but
it
was
never
delivered.
Kapil
had
also
alleged
that
Dilip
was
demanding
more
money
and
even
parking
charges.
Milind
Bharambe,
joint
commissioner
of
police
(crime)
was
quoted
by
TOI
as
saying,
"Preliminary
inquiry
shows
that
it
is
a
fit
case
of
cheating
and
misappropriation
of
funds.
We
are
in
the
process
of
registering
the
FIR."
Apparently,
the
design
studio
of
Dilip
has
modified
and
converted
cars
for
many
high-profile
customers
including
Bollywood
stars
Hrithik
Roshan
and
Madhuri
Dixit.
