Veteran
actor
Satish
Kaul,
who
played
the
role
of
Lord
Indra
in
the
mythological
series
Mahabharata,
passed
away
today
(April
10,
2021)
due
to
COVID-19
in
Ludhiana.
He
was
73.
According
to
his
sister
Satya
Devi,
the
actor
was
admitted
to
a
city
hospital
after
he
developed
fever
six
days
ago.
Satya
Devi
was
quoted
by
PTI
as
saying,
"He
died
today
morning
due
to
COVID-19
at
the
hospital.
He
had
fever
and
wasn't
keeping
well.
We
admitted
him
to
the
hospital
on
Thursday
and
got
him
tested,
where
it
turned
out
that
he
was
COVID-19
positive."
Apart
from
Mahabharat,
he
was
seen
in
popular
television
shows
like
Circus
and
Vikram
Betal.
He
also
worked
in
nearly
300
Hindi
and
Punjabi
films.
A
few
Bollywood
films
in
which
he
worked
are
Pyaar
Toh
Hona
Hi

and

The
actor
had
moved
to
Punjab
from
Mumbai
and
had
started
an
acting
school
around
2011,
but
the
school
shut
shop,
and
reportedly,
he
suffered
a
financial
blow.
He
fractured
his
hip
bone
in
2015
and
was
bedridden
for
two
and
a
half
years.
He
later
checked
in
to
an
old
age
home,
where
he
stayed
till
2019,
before
moving
into
a
rented
house.
Last
year,
in
May,
it
was
said
that
the
actor
doesn't
have
enough
money
to
meet
his
basic
expenses
and
was
staying
with
a
nurse
(Satya),
who
used
to
take
care
of
him
in
an
old-age
home.
His
condition
worsened
after
nationwide
lockdown
and
he
had
appealed
to
the
film
industry
for
help.
He
had
expressed
his
wish
to
buy
a
house
of
his
own
in
the
city
and
had
hoped
to
act
more.
