In a major shocker, Sony Entertainment Television decided to pull the plug on Katha Ankahee. The romantic drama went off air after a successful run of one year on the small screen. Dabangii replaced Katha Ankahee in October 2023, pushing the latter to the 7pm slot.

The channel change the time slot of Kathaa Ankahee but somehow the ratings dropped further and the show faced the axe. Talking about the ending of Katha Ankahee serial, a source exclusively told Filmibeat, "Katha Ankahee was doing good when compared to other shows on the channel. Barsatein and Kavya Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon are giving the same numbers. Even Dabangii has failed to perform better than Katha at the 8:30pm slot. The channel didn't wish to drag the show and decided to end it on a high note."

Sharing a note after wrapping the shoot, Adnan wrote, As I said. With this I close the series. Was an absolute blast working with this group. ADNAN KHAN NEW AS KATHA ANKAHEE LAST EPISODES AIRS

If the recent buzz is to be believed, Adnan Khan has been approached to play the male lead in Ekta Kapoor's historical drama on Colors channel. After a gap of nine years, the channel will bring a new show based on the life of Emperor Ashoka and Adnan is expected to play the titular role in the historical drama.

According to a report in India Forums, Adnan Khan has already completed the mock shoots with two popular actresses Mallika Singh and Ashi Singh. Mallika, who is known for playing the role of Radha in RadhaKrishn opposite Sumedh Mudgalkar, has an edge over Ashi. The TV diva is likely to romance Adnan Khan in the upcoming show on Colors channel, which will launch in 2024.
