Ankit Gupta's Junooniyatt To Go Off Air, Doree To Replace? Here's What We Know

Junooniyatt update: After weeks of speculations about the new show, Colors TV has unveiled the promo of Doree. The new daily soap will pit a young girl against a woman, who is against her own community. While she carries orthodox views, the little one is keen to why she was abandoned as a child. The promo has managed to create anticipation among the audience, reminding them about Na Aana Iss Des Laado.

DOREE STAR CAST, LAUNCH DATE

A reliable source told Filmibeat, "Colors TV is all set to spruce up the programming with the launch of Bigg Boss 17. It will be followed with Chand Jalne Laga that stars Vishal Aditya Singh and Kanika Mann. The channel is confident the two properties will boolster their prime time programming in the upcoming days. Doree will be their next big fiction launch after Chand Jalne Laga. The marketing team is leaving no stone unturned to promote the show in different sectors. From an intriguing music video to star-studded cast, Chand Jalne Laga has all the ingredients of a successful show."

There are mumours in the industry that Colors channel might be axing one of its non-performing shows. While Parineeti is doing decent, Shiv Shakti is the top performer. Neerja, the recent fiction launch, is yet to find a steady audience but it is slowly and steadily rising in terms of numbers.

ANKIT GUPTA JUNOONIYATT & UDAARIYAAN UNDER SCANNER

Gossip mills suggest that both Udaariyaan and Junooniyatt are in the danger zone as the numbers have dropped in recent weeks. The channel might pull the plug one of the shows that is not yielding great returns.

"Doree will launch in November at a prime time slot. Udaariyaan and Junooniyatt are under scanner. Chances of Udaariyaan going off air or moving to the 6:30pm slot are higher. Junooniyatt is saved from the axe but if the numbers don't pick up, the channel might take a decision. Despite the massive twists and turns, the show is somehow stuck in 1.1-1.2 TRP range," the source added.

WILL JUNOONIYATT GO OFF AIR?

There's no official confirmation about the show starring Ankit Gupta, Neha Rana and Gautam Singh Vig ending anytime soon. However, the low numbers might affect the shelf life of the serial. The show was launched in February 2023 with much expectations but competition from Imlie, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and IPL affected the growth of the show.

A change in slot helped Junooniyatt but the drama has not been able to touch the 1.5 TVR mark in the past few months.
