Known for his roles in shows like Sadda Haq, Begusarai, and Kundali Bhagya, he gained prominence by portraying the lead character Fateh in the successful Colors show Udaariyaan, alongside Priyanka Chahar Choudhary.
However, Salman Khan's controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 16, catapulted him to household fame. Throughout his time on the show, fans appreciated his calm demeanor and friendship with fellow contestant and best friend Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. While there are constant rumours about Ankit and Priyanka dating each other in real life, the duo has always maintained that they're best friends.

PriyAnkit became close friends while shooting for Udaariyaan, however, did you know that they had their share of fights on the show's sets? Yes, you read that right! Recently seen playing the lead role of Jahaan in Colors TV's Junooniyatt, the actor opened up about their fights in a recent interview.
Talking about the same to ABP Sanjha, Ankit Gupta said, "Hum dono na, itne zyada over emotional log the ya hai, I don't know waqt ke saath kitna change aaya hai. But, I think dono ke saath aisa hai ki agar jin logon ke saath hum aise bond mei hai ya jin logon ki hum itni care karte hai, unke saath choti-choti cheezein bhi affect kar jaati hai. Hum dono ki na shakal pe dikh jata... Priyanka toh phir bhi bohot ache se handle kar leti hai, meri toh shakal pe ekdam se aa jata hai ki aaj ye lad ke baitha hai, aaj iska mood kharab hai. Waise toh hum sara time masti karte rehte the, jis din ladai hoti thi uss din baat bhi nahi hoti thi, of course logon ko pata chal jata tha, dono muh bana ke baithe hai, dono bata bhi nahi kar rahe, ladai hui hai, chup chap kaam karo aur jao."
