Ankit Gupta Junooniyatt: When Colors channel launched Junooniyatt, industry experts expected the show to create ripples on the small screen. Ankit Gupta, who is riding high on the success of Bigg Boss 16, was playing the lead role in the musical drama.

All eyes were on him as he was supposed to play a different role opposite Neha Rana. Gautam Vig was the cherry on the cake as he also joined Junooniyatt as the parallel lead. However, things didn't work out as planned as Junooniyatt somehow failed to set the TRP charts on fire.

Ankit Gupta never spoke about the numbers game in his interviews. Breaking his silence over the low ratings of his popular show, he said that he had high expectations when it went on air. The TV heartthrob said that he was confident as it starred him and Gautam Vig. However, somehow the show couldn't strike a connection with the audience.

The Bigg Boss 16 contestant said that he was confident that the show would register a huge opening and even emerge as the number one drama on Colors channel. He said that his bubble was burst after the ratings plummeted due to IPL 2023.

"Expectations to bahut jyada high thi. Jab Junooniyatt start kiya to main bahut jyada confident tha kyunki main ek bahut hit show deke aaya tha aur uske baad Bigg Boss me logo ne itna pasand kiya tha. Fir jab Junooniyatt me main aur Gautam saath mein aaye, main confident tha ki ye to show toh bahut achi opening karega and iski achi rating jayegi. Lagta tha Colors ka number one show bhi ban jaye," Ankit told ABP News.

"FIR IPL shuru hogya aur ratings utne ache aaye nhi jitna socha tha. Toh uska baad mera bhram tuta. Kisi ke chehre ya fame se cheeze nahi chalti hai, story is the main hero, jo main hamesha bolta bhi hu," he added.

The Udaariyaan actor further revealed what went wrong with Junooniyatt, mentioning that the makers are now back on track to bring a new audience. "Kuch thodi bahut mistakes hui thi kahani mein, jo hum sudhar rahe hai. Original kahani jo thi Junooniyatt ki, vo hum vapas uspe focus kar rahe hain," he quipped.

Ankit will be next seen in a new music video titled Baarish Aayi Hai. He romanced Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame Shivangi Joshi in the soothing song, which will be released soon. The Balika Vadhu actor recently won an award along with Priyanka Choudhary at the International Iconic Awards 2023. PriyAnkit fans have showered their favourite stars with wishes on social media.
