It’s Very Negative…: Anupamaa Star Sudhanshu Pandey Not A Fan Of Violence & Brutality In OTT Shows

Actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who is currently winning hearts for his performance as Vanraj in Rupali Ganguly starrer top-rated show Anupamaa, says that has never been a fan of brutality on screen. He adds that OTT, as a platform, is thriving on this content, and this needs to change.

Revealing the same, the actor stated, "Personally, I don't like watching too much brutality on the screen because it has a very negative impact on my mind. There's a lot of brutality and crime that is being shown on OTT platforms and even in certain films now, the ones that are being made specifically for OTT. I personally do not like watching too much bloodshed because it doesn't feel really good in the end," he says, adding, "I don't think it's dominating in films but definitely, on OTT, it is dominating because OTT has become like a place where everybody wants to show too much crime, brutality, too much blood, too much sexual content, too much of everything, whether it is got something to do with the story or not."

He says that it's wrong to assume that audiences only want to watch bloodshed on OTT. "There are all kinds of audiences. I don't think the audiences for the OTT platforms are very large. The large strata of audience in India is still the middle class, the ones who go to the theatre and whistle and dance to the song of the films or watch television. They like to sit and get entertained in the comfort of their homes and laugh, cry at home, and get emotional, watching certain content on television. So that is a large part of our audience. There are all kinds of people in life. There are certain kinds of people who like to watch content on OTT. Many of these people prefer watching slice-of-life stories, real stories which are being made into series on platforms, which is good in a way because it's very informative. As long as we are making responsible content, I think it is all good. But people who become irresponsible, are just showing things for an effect and just want to put anything crass out there and that doesn't really make for good content," he adds.
