Anupamaa Update: Featuring Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna in the iconic roles of Anupama and Anuj Kapadia respectively, Rajan Shahi's Anupamaa premiered on Star Plus in 2020 and has been a well-received family drama since the beginning. Every week, it has been topping the TRP charts and is the most successful daily soap on TV currently.

Last month, Anupamaa crossed a major milestone as it completed three successful years and crossed the mark of 1000 episodes. To make the show more entertaining for the loyal viewers, the makers often introduces interesting twists and turns. The current track of Anupamaa tackles domestic violence as Adhika harasses his wife Pakhi physically and mentally.

Now that the family members have got to know about Adhik's reality, he's trying his level best to manipulate Pakhi so that he can get saved from going to jail. Earlier, Adhika was shown as a mature and positive character. The actor, Adhika Mehta, got a great response for his performance. However, his character has now turned negative in Anupamaa.

ADHIKA MEHTA ON PLAYING VILLAIN IN ANUPAMAA

In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his track in the superhit Star Plus show and shared his thoughts about playing the new villain. Talking to IANS, Adhik Mehta said, "The show 'Anupamaa' is all about seeing a mothers struggle and giving a positive perspective to people and me being the antagonist is a huge opportunity for me to showcase my talent as an actor. I have never ever played a negative role in my entire career but it's a great challenge as an actor to play a villain."

He added, "I am so ashamed to agree that domestic violence exists in our society and is being neglected by people saying yeh to unke ghar ka matter hai (It's a personal call) until it happens with them or their family. But I'm a little relieved that our government has taken enough measures and made laws accordingly."

While fans are eagerly awaiting to see Adhik going to jail, it'll be interesting to see if Anupama will succeed in making Pakhi understand the situation or not.
