They questioned his love for his wife, for whom he waited for 26 years. Social media has been flooded with messages about Anuj and Anupama's separation.

Many netizens have shared their thoughts about the problems in MaAn's relationship and the issues between them. They have blamed Anuj for 'betraying' Anupamaa by not supporting her when she needed him the most. Here, betrayal means his behavior with her when Maya took away Choti Anu from them.

Fans trolled Gaurav Khanna, mentioning how his character has 'changed'. They stated that Anuj Kapadia made them fall in love with him but now, they are upset with the 360-degree turn in his behaviour. Gaurav Khanna and his wife have now reacted to the online trolling in a recent interaction. Akanksha Chamola said, "Thode bahut trolling bhi hoti hai, humko vo bhi padke maza aata hai. Bahut cute log hai. Kya kya likhte hai."
