Aryan
Khan
Drug
Case:
On
Friday,
the
Central
Bureau
of
Investigation
(CBI)
launched
a
search
at
the
former
Narcotics
Control
Bureau
(NCB)
officer
Sameer
Wankhede's
premises
after
filing
a
First
Information
Report
(FIR)
against
him
and
four
others.
The
FIR
alleges
that
Wankhede
and
his
associates
demanded
a
bribe
of
Rs
25
crore
to
prevent
the
framing
of
Shah
Rukh
Khan's
son,
Aryan
Khan,
in
the
drugs-on-cruise
case.
According
to
officials,
Aryan
Khan
was
arrested
on
October
2,
2021,
in
an
alleged
drug
bust
case
on
the
Cordelia
cruise
ship.
While
the
NCB
filed
a
charge
sheet
in
the
case,
they
later
cleared
Aryan
Khan
of
any
wrongdoing.
However,
an
SIT
set
up
by
the
anti-drug
agency
claimed
that
Wankhede's
investigation
had
lapses.
The
CBI's
searches
were
carried
out
in
29
locations
across
Mumbai,
Delhi,
Ranchi,
and
Kanpur,
as
it
was
alleged
that
Wankhede
and
his
associates
had
demanded
the
bribe
in
exchange
for
not
framing
Aryan
Khan.
The
officials
said
that
they
received
information
that
Wankhede
and
his
accomplice
had
collected
an
advance
of
Rs
50
lakh.
Now,
Wankhede
has
finally
reacted
to
the
FIR
filed
by
CBI
against
him
and
stated
that
he's
going
to
fight.
Talking
to
ETimes,
he
said,
"I
will
fight
till
death," and
added,
"My
children
who
are
just
two
years
old
are
fighting
12
people.
My
father
who
is
70-plus
years
old
is
battling
7
to
8
people.
Same
is
the
case
with
my
in-laws.
For
the
media
this
is
just
a
piece
of
news
but
for
me
it
is
the
security
of
my
family,
which
is
my
priority.
We
have
been
living
under
threat."
For
the
unversed,
Wankhede
was
the
head
of
the
Narcotics
Control
Bureau
(NCB)
in
Mumbai
at
the
time
of
Aryan
Khan's
arrest.
He
was
later
transferred
to
the
Directorate
General
of
Taxpayer
Services
in
Chennai
in
May
last
year.
