BB17 Contestant Sana Raees Khan Under Fire For Participation

Bigg Boss 17: The 17th season of the popular and controversial reality show, Bigg Boss, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan commenced on October 15 with a bang. The season's contestants are already grabbing the headlines with their controversial antics.

Among others, advocate Sana Raees Khan, known for representing high-profile clients in various legal cases, has found herself in the midst of a controversy. Sana's legal career includes defending Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, and representing a co-accused in the Cordelia drug case, which was linked to the arrest of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan.

Sana's participation in the reality show has not gone down well, as Bombay High Court lawyer Ashutosh J Dubey has raised concerns over it and has labeled it a "violation of Bar Council rules."

In response, the lawyer has taken the matter to the Bar Council of India, where he filed a formal complaint, deeming it a "serious matter of professional misconduct."

Taking to his social media account, Mr. Dubey shared the complaint letter, stating, "I have formally notified the Bar Council of India that Advocate Sana Raees Khan has participated as a contestant in the reality show 'Bigg Boss 17,' which is a violation of Bar Council Rules."

He further explained, "According to rules 47 to 52 of the Bar Council of India Rules, advocates are prohibited from engaging in any other employment to generate income. Additionally, section 49(1)(c) of the Advocates Act, 1961 restricts practicing advocates from pursuing full-time employment in other fields."
