Bigg Boss 17: Who Is Jigna Vora's Ex Husband & Son? When Scoop Documented Her Abusive Marriage

Bigg Boss 17 Contestant Jigna Vora

Bigg Boss 17 Contestant Jigna Vora: The new season of India's most popular and watched reality show, Bigg Boss 17, premiered on Sunday night, October 15. Salman Khan returned as the show's host, and an array of a variety of contestants, from Ankita Lokhande to comedian Munawar Faruqui and others, were seen making their way inside the BB 17 house.

But fans were surprised to see Jigna Vora as one of the contestants. She is a former crime journalist who was implicated in the murder of another senior scribe. She spent months in jail and has documented her experience in the book Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison.

The book was adapted by Hansal Mehta into a web series titled Scoop, which was released earlier this year on Netflix.

Jigna Vora son and ex husband

Jigna Vora was a star journalist who worked at The Asian Age as a crime reporter and was the deputy bureau chief of the newspaper's Mumbai bureau. Her life took a U-turn when she was accused in the case of Mid-Day journalist Jyotirmoy Dey's murder.

She stayed in Byculla Jail in Mumbai for nine months and was released in 2012. Due to a lack of evidence, Jigna was cleared of all accusations after seven years in 2018 by a special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court.

She wrote her memoirs Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison, in which she documented her life inside the prison. Karishma Tanna-starrer Netflix drama Scoop chronicles how Jigna Vora lost her dignity and battled the worst phase of her life. She is now a tarot card reader and healer.

Although not much is said or written about Jigna's husband and marriage, it is known that Jigna got married in 1998 to her family's desire in an arranged marriage setup and had to move to Bharuch, Gujarat. She had to quit her internship at a famous law firm because she had a law degree.

She was told that her husband was an engineer and ran a printing press in Bharuch. However, later, it was discovered that all the claims about her husband were untrue, which led to troubles in her marriage.

She eventually returned to Mumbai in 2004 with her four-year-old son and pursued her career in media. The Netflix show Scoop also dedicated a small part to Jigna's abusive marriage. He was not only a fraud, but he was also an alcoholic. Her son's name, as shown in the show, was Neil.

It will definitely be interesting to see Vora's journey in Bigg Boss 17, who is not only strong but has seen so many troubles in life.
