Happy
Children's
Day:
Children's
Day,
also
known
as
'Bal
Diwas,'
is
celebrated
annually
on
November
14
throughout
India.
This
day
commemorates
the
birth
anniversary
of
Jawaharlal
Nehru,
India's
first
Prime
Minister
affectionately
referred
to
as
'Chacha
Nehru.'
Nehru
was
a
staunch
advocate
for
children's
education
and
rights,
firmly
believing
in
an
inclusive
education
system
and
its
pivotal
role
in
a
nation's
success.
His
visionary
perspective
emphasized
children
as
the
future
of
the
nation
and
the
bedrock
of
society.
In
1955,
he
established
the
Children's
Film
Society
India
to
address
issues
concerning
children.
Initially,
Children's
Day
in
India
was
observed
on
November
20,
coinciding
with
the
United
Nations'
World
Children's
Day.
However,
following
Jawaharlal
Nehru's
passing
in
1964,
the
Indian
Parliament
passed
a
resolution
to
officially
designate
Nehru's
birthday
as
Children's
Day.
On
the
special
occasion
today,
TV
star
Ashi
Singh
opened
up
about
the
Children's
Day
celebration
and
recalled
childhood
days.

mentioned,
"Children's
Day
used
to
be
a
very
special
day
in
my
life
as
a
kid
and
I
have
a
lot
of
fond
memories
of
the
day.
We
used
to
celebrate
this
day
in
school
and
have
a
lot
of
fun,
especially
with
teachers.
It
used
to
be
the
only
day
when
our
teachers
didn't
scold
us
even
if
we
made
a
mistake
or
did
some
mischief.
Being
the
naughty
kid
I
was,
it
used
to
be
one
of
the
days
when
I
used
to
be
pampered
by
both,
my
parents
and
teachers.
On
the
sets
of
Meet
too,
I
played
a
lot
of
pranks
on
everyone
and
made
our
work
full
of
fun
and
entertainment.
To
all
the
kids
out
there,
I
wish
everyone
a
very
Happy
Children's
Day."
