Merry
Christmas:
Christmas
is
upon
us
and
everyone
once
again
prepares
to
celebrate
one
of
the
most
popular
holidays
around
the
world.
Actor
Ali
Merchant
chats
about
how
he
celebrates
Christmas
and
also
looks
back
at
some
memories
of
the
holiday
as
a
child.
Ali
shares
some
special
traditions
of
the
holiday
he
used
to
carry
out,
"I
used
to
go
to
Mount
Mary
church
in
Bandra
and
used
to
light
a
candle
which
would
be
of
the
shape
of
a
particular
thing
which
I
would
desire
the
most
and
pray
for
it.
My
dad
used
to
dress
up
as
Santa
and
decorate
the
Christmas
trees
and
fill
them
with
cakes,
chocolates
and
gifts."
The
actor,
who
is
also
a
DJ,
says
that
Christmas
has
been
a
time
for
him
to
play
at
parties,
"For
the
last
8
years
I
have
been
performing
live
DJ
sets
and
have
a
beautiful
look
giving
the
feel
of
Xmas
as
my
team
and
I
decide
the
decor
and
share
ideas
of
what
we
need
as
per
the
venue
where
I
am
performing
on
Xmas
Eve
and
Christmas.
This
year
I
am
performing
in
Kolkata
on
December
24th
and
Goa
on
December
25th
and
both
the
venues
will
be
decorated
with
all
the
Christmas
decorations
as
well
as
handmade
decorations.
One
venue
would
be
themed
white
Christmas
where
everything
would
be
in
white
giving
a
snow-like
feel
and
the
other
would
be
a
Red
Naughty
Santa-like
feel
where
it
would
be
colourful."
He
adds,
"Christmas
props
are
also
given
to
the
1500-2000
guests
who
come
for
my
shows."
Ali
reveals
a
personal
favourite
tradition
which
his
dad
would
do,
and
also
shares
his
favourite
delicacies
of
the
celebration.
"My
dad
would
have
gifts
hidden
in
Christmas
trees
when
I
was
a
kid
and
I
was
the
most
excited
for
the
surprises.
Alahbaadi
cakes
and
plum
cakes
are
my
favourites
at
Christmas."
He
ends
by
telling
us
his
most
favourite
Christmas
inspired
movies,
"'Snowman',
'Home
Alone',
'White
Christmas',
and
'Last
Christmas'
are
a
few
of
my
favourite
Christmas
films," he
ends.
