Dabangii REVIEW: Sony TV Hits The Ball Out Of Park As We Love Our Maharashtrian Mulgi Arya

Dabangii review: 'There's nothing interesting to watch on television these days'- I heard a young lady complain to her friend while commuting in the Delhi Metro. I was quick enough to point out that she should give Sony TV shows a try. After all, they are relatable, fresh, and innovative, unlike the run-of-the-mill soaps on other channels.
Be it Katha Ankahee or Kavya Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon, Sony Entertainment Television has been churning out quality content since the past several years now. All of its launches in the last one year are focusing on characters that have the potential to strike a chord with the audience. While I love the urban setting of the show, I was craving for something desi, raw, and yet interesting on the channel. They fulfilled my wish by introducing Dabangii to the prime-time line-up.
If I have to describe Dabangii Mulgi Aayi Re, I will just use the words- refreshing and authentic. The show focuses on the story of Arya, who is fierce and is ready to raise her voice against injustice, even when she is just a kid. Maahi Bhadra aka Arya's cuteness will melt your hearts and make you cheer for them. Kudos to the casting team for introducing such a talented star cast.
Her mother Chhaya, played by the effervescent Sai Deodhar, leaves no stone unturned to protect her daughter from Satya Rajyavadhkar and his men. Aamir Dalvi and Manav Gohil, two power-packed performers, light up the small screen, whenever they come into the scene.
There's a massive twist that will keep you hooked on to the screens. Satya has turned into a baddie as he was arrested by his brother in connection with a murder case. He is on the lookout for Chhaya and her daughter. Be it the storyline or the impeccable performances of the main artists, the show gets brownie points in most of the departments. There's no doubt that it has managed to bring the raw flavour of the Maharashtrian culture and traditions through the screenplay.
The writing team deserves a mention for infusing social issues like gender discrimination and lack of equal opportunities in the plot. While the writing is top-notch and the characters have great depth, we hope the makers stick to the concept and don't add unnecessary twists which doesn't add value to the story.
Sony TV has hit the ball out of the park once again with Dabangii and I hope the creative team continues to churn out content that can make us say 'so elegant, so beautiful, just wow'.
