Dhanteras 2023: The five-day Diwali celebrations start from Dhanteras and our celebrities, despite their jam-packed shooting schedules, go shopping as a part of the ritual. Actress Akanksha Juneja, who is currently seen playing the character of Nidhi in Zee TV show Kundali Bhagya, shares her plans for today and what importance this day holds in her life.

Akanksha, in an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, reveals how she intends to celebrate the day. "Dhanteras is an extremely auspicious day to shop for gold and silver stuff and this day holds a lot of significance as it marks the beginning of Diwali. It is believed that making a gold purchase on this day brings good luck and prosperity and, since childhood, I have seen my parents purchasing gold on Dhanteras, so following our family ritual, every year, I buy gold coins. This is something I have been doing for years and will continue in the future. In the evening, we offer the coin to the goddess and perform Dhanteras pooja," the actress said.

She further added, "I do believe that, apart from being a ritual, purchasing gold is also a great investment. Buying gold on Dhanteras brings a lot of positive vibes. When it comes to following rituals, I really love following them because, since childhood, I have seen my parents doing the same. Also, on Dhanteras we wear new clothes, light diyas around the house and perform Lakshmi pooja."

On the professional front, Akanksha has worked in hit shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Dil Se Di Dua Saubhagyavati Bhava, Hamaari Beti Raaj Karegi, to name a few. She is fondly known for her impressive performance as Kanak in Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2, which aired on Star Plus.
