CID’s Fredericks aka Dinesh Phadnis Passes Away At 57

The telly world broke up to a heartbreaking news on December 5, actor Dinesh Phadnis passes away this morning. He was 57. For the uninitiated, Dinesh was best known for his role of Fredericks in Sony TV's iconic show CID which featured Shivaji Satam in the lead as ACP Pradayuman. According to media reports, Dinesh died of multiple organ failure in a hospital in Mumbai.
For the uninitiated, Dinesh wasn't keeping well for a while and was reportedly on ventilator support for a couple of days. The news of Dinesh's unfortunate demise was confirmed by his CID co-star Dayanand Shetty who told the ETimesTV, "Yes, it's true he is no more. It happened around 12:08 am. I am at his residence right now. His last rites will be conducted today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium. Almost everyone from the CID is present right now".
According to media reports, Dinesh was batted against live damage for a while now. In fact, there have been reports about Dinesh suffering a heart attack during the weekend following which he was put on ventilator. However, Dayanand Shetty rubbished the rumours and said that while Dinesh was critical, he didn't suffer a heart attack.
Talking to IndianExpress.com, Dayanand stated, "Dinesh Phadnis is hospitalised and on a ventilator, doctors are observing him. He has not suffered a heart attack, it is a different treatment and I wouldn't like to comment on it".
Meanwhile on the work front, Dinesh became a household name with his stint in CID wherein Shivaji Satam played the role ACP Pradayuman, Dayanand was seen as Daya and Aditya Srivastav played the role of Abhijeet. The show went on air in 1998 and pulled its curtains down in November 2018. Besides, Dinesh was also seen doing a cameo in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah along with movies like Sarfarosh and Super 30.
