Doree cast: Colors channel is on a roll these days. After successfully launching Neerja and Bigg Boss 17, the channel is gearing up for the premiere of Chand Jalne Laga next week. Starring Vishal Aditya Singh and Kanika Mann, the show will beam at a prime time slot of 9:30pm.

After the romantic drama, the leading GEC will add Doree to its weekday programming. The promo of the upcoming show has already captured the attention of the netizens. Once again, Colors TV will focus on a societal issue, continuing its legacy of breaking stereotypes.

The upcoming daily soap, which will focus on gender inequality, is set against the backdrop of Varanasi. The lead character, a six-year-old Doree, will challenge the male-dominated handloom industry. Her foster father, Ganga Prasad will support her in the initiative.

Toral Rasputra makes a comeback on Colors TV in a special role. She won hearts as Anandi in Balika Vadhu and later went on to feature in shows like Udaan and Molkki on the same channel. "I'm thrilled about being part of COLORS' legacy after having featured as a protagonist in its iconic show Balika Vadhu and a few other projects that have women at its centre. COLORS has been a pioneer in narrating such impactful story and nothing makes me happier than stepping aboard for Doree., The show will highlight gender inequality. I will be seen essaying the character of Mansi, who is Kailashi Devi's daughter-in-law. Mansi is cornered by her fear of raising her voice against her dictator mother-in-law who propagates patriarchy. I'm fully committed to immersing myself in the role and I hope the audience will embrace me in this new character," Toral said in a statement released by the channel.

Doree is expected to replace either Junooniyatt or Udaariyaan from next month.
