Durga Aur Charu: THIS Ishqbaaz Star REPLACES Mohit Kumar As Male Lead Just A Few Days After Generation Leap?
The makers of Colors TV’s Durga Aur Charu, a sequel to Barrister Babu, recently introduced a generation leap in the show after which Mohit Kumar was introduced as the male lead.
After the success of Barrister Babu, the makers launched its sequel titled Durga Aur Charu in December this year. Featuring Aura Bhatnagar and Vaishnavi Prajapati in the titular roles, the show has been fetching a decent response.
After two months, Durga Aur Charu recently underwent a generation leap, introducing Adrija Roy and Rachi Sharma as the new Durga and Charu respectively. Mohit Kumar was also introduced as the male lead. However, recent reports suggest that the actor will be replaced just after days after his entry.
According to the ongoing buzz, Ishqbaaz star Kunal Jaisingh will likely replace him. Revealing the same, a source informed ETimes, "The channel and makers decided to replace Mohit. A few actors were approached and now they have shortlisted Kunal Jaisingh and Rahul Sharma for the character. But they are quite keen on having Kunal on board for the role."
For the unversed, Kunal Jaisingh had earlier teamed up with the production house for Sony TV's Kyun Utthey Dil Chhod Aaye, where he had a prominent cameo. Despite his short appearance, Kunal made a lasting impression on viewers with his powerful portrayal of a complex character. His performance earned him widespread praise.
After the generation leap, Mohit entered the show along with Adrija Roy, Rachi Sharma, and Riya Shukla in pivotal roles. Among these, Riya is yet to make her entry but is expected to play a negative lead character with a significant impact on the plot.
Durga Aur Charu, the sequel to Barrister Babu, followed the story of Bondita and Anirudh's daughters, Durga and Charu. After being separated in a disaster, the sisters were raised by different families before reuniting. However, Charu's foster mother separated them once again for her own selfish reasons. The leap in the show has raised questions about whether the sisters will be brought closer together or if new twists will be added to the plot.
