Eid 2023: Muslims around the globe are celebrating Eid al-Fitr/Eid ul-Fitr today (April 22) as the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close. This festival signifies the end of the sacred period of Ramadan and the start of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic calendar.
On this day, also known as Eid al-Fitr or Id ul-Fitr, Muslims express gratitude to Allah for the holy Quran. Eid holds great importance as it signals the end of a month-long fasting period from sunrise to sunset.
Preparations for Eid ul-Fitr include shopping, home decorations, and purchasing presents for loved ones. In India, Eid is one of the most significant festivals that Muslims celebrate with immense joy and happiness.
MANAV GOHIL'S CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF EID
On the special occasion, TV star Manav Gohil exclusively talked to Filmibeat and shared his childhood memories attached to the festival of Eid.
Manav Gohil, who is currently seen essaying the role of Akshay in ZEE TV's Main Hoon Aparajita co-starring Shweta Tiwari, mentioned, "Having several friends who observe a fast during the Holy month of Ramadan, I celebrate Eid with them usually. If I get a day off, I look forward to celebrating Eid with my friends. I also have several memories of Eid from my childhood. From countless bowls of sheer khurma to the early morning wafts of biryani and joining my friends for Iftaris, I have really enjoyed the festivities along with my buddies over the years when I was a kid."
MANAV GOHIL ON CELEBRATING RAMADAN & EID ON SETS
He added, "In fact, even now, on the sets of Main Hoon Aparajita, I leave a scene midway to join my cast and crew for Iftari. We all sit down every day in the evening and have a wonderful chat with one another while feasting on some yummy food. Such memories are really wonderful to cherish and here's wishing one and all Eid Mubarak."
