Pankit
Thakker,
who
made
his
TV
debut
in
2001
with
Kabhii
Sautan
Kabhii
Sahelii
co-starring
Anita
Hassanandani
and
Urvashi
Dholakia,
has
come
a
long
way
in
his
career.
Best
known
for
his
role
in
Karan
Singh
Grover's
Dill
Mill
Gayye,
he's
currently
seen
in
Dangal
TV's
Janam
Janam
Ka
Saath.
While
the
actor
is
doing
well
professionally,
he
recently
talked
exclusively
to
Filmibeat
about
Priyanka
Chopra's
recent
statement
on
pay
parity
in
Bollywood.
International
star
Priyanka
Chopra
is
currently
busy
with
the
promotions
of
her
new
show
Citadel,
co-starring
Richard
Madden.
In
a
recent
interview,
the
Fashion
star
opened
up
about
the
pay
parity
in
Bollywood
once
again
and
stated
that
she
used
to
get
just
10%
of
the
money
in
comparison
to
the
hero's
salary
for
films.
However,
Pankit
isn't
too
happy
with
her
statement
and
states
that
it's
a
'cheap
way'
of
promotion.
Sharing
his
thoughts
about
the
same,
Pankit
said,
"Priyanka
Chopra
is
talking
about
pay
parity
I
think
it's
an
extremely
cheap
way
to
promote
yourself
and
your
projects.
She
is
forgetting
that
all
the
successful
films
that
she
has
done,
right
from
her
debut
film
Hero
to
Krissh
to
Don,
people
have
gone
to
theatres
to
watch
either
Sunny
Deol
or
Hrithik
Roshan
or
SRK,
Akshay
Kumar,
Salman
Khan
or
Ranbir
Kapoor.
They
didn't
go
to
watch
those
films
because
Priyanka
was
the
lead
in
it
and
the
film
was
mounted
on
her."
According
to
Pankit,
Priyanka
should
be
grateful
for
her
journey
and
that
she
was
lucky
enough
to
get
those
projects
in
the
first
place.
He
also
questioned
the
difference
in
Priyanka's
salary
and
her
co-stars'
fees
in
films
like
Fashion
and
Mary
Kom.
He
stated,
"Okay,
let's
turn
the
table
around
where
she
is
asking
for
pay
parity;
in
all
the
films
that
were
mounted
on
her
shoulders,
like
Fashion,
Mary
Kom,
or
What's
Your
Rashee.
Ask
her
if
Arjan
Bajwa
or
Darshan
kumar
or
Harman
Baweja
were
paid
the
same
amount
as
Priyanka
Chopra.
In
Saat
khoon
maaf
she
had
seven
heroes
opposite
her,
were
all
of
them
paid
the
same
amount
as
Priyanka
Chopra?
Ask
Annu
Kapoor
if
he
was
paid
as
much
as
Priyanka
in
the
movie?"
Pankit
is
proud
of
Priyanka's
achievements
so
far
but
he
just
couldn't
agree
with
her
views
on
pay
parity.
The
actor
added,
"I
am
an
outsider
for
Bollywood,
as
in
I
work
majorly
in
TV
not
in
films
and
I
am
proud
of
the
way
Priyanka
has
made
India
proud
but
every
film
project
is
mounted
as
per
the
saleability
and
its
USP.
Major
projects
in
Bollywood
in
the
last
22
years
that
she
has
done
were
mounted
on
the
saleability
of
male
stars
and
she
just
happened
to
be
a
part
of
those
films."
"Even
today
an
SRK
film,
Pathan,
does
business
of
Rs
500
or
700
crores.
Ask
Adi
(Aditya)
Chopra
if
he
is
willing
to
bet
Rs
100
crores
on
a
Priyanka
Chopra
movie
with
guaranteed
returns
and
see
what
he
has
to
say," Pankit
added.
Pankit
concluded
by
stating
that
Priyanka
is
living
in
a
bubble
and
needs
a
reality
check.
He
further
said,
"I
was
a
genuine
admirer
of
Priyanka
but
these
kind
of
statements
made
by
her
makes
her
look
Fake
and
disgraceful."
