Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai Update: Seasoned actress Manasi Joshi Roy, best known for her stints in Saaya and Kkusum, is making her small screen comeback with the much-hyped ZEE TV show Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai, co-starring Navika Kotia. As the daily soap premieres tonight (September 18), the actress, in an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, opened up about her role and much more.

For those who are unaware, Manasi has always been very choosy about her projects. One being asked if it has been a conscious decision, the actress told us, "Yes, it is a fact that I've chosen my projects very carefully. Because what has always attracted me to a project has been the story primarily and then my character. The same thing happened the minute I heard what Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai was all about. I loved the concept, it's very unique. And, I loved my character, Ambika Raj Kaur is a very very interesting woman and I'm very excited to portray her onscreen."

MANASI JOSHI ROY ON COMPARISONS WITH SMRITI IRANI'S KYUNKI SAAS

As her new show has a unique title - Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai, many people are comparing it with Smriti Irani's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu This. Sharing her thoughts about the comparisons, Manasi added, "Yes, the title of our show is definitely very interesting, and as you watch the show, you'll realize it's an extremely apt title. Comparison to the earlier show with a similar-sounding name is very obvious. But, you need to see our show to see how apt this title is for it."

After Dhhai Kilo Prem and Yeh Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar, the actress is playing the role of a mother yet again. On being asked how her role in her new show is different from the previous ones, Manasi confidently said, "Yes, I'm playing a mother again but as we all know that every mother has a different character and different personality. Playing the mother in this show is definitely going to be one of my most memorable roles because Ambika Raj Kaur is an extremely strong, powerful, interesting, complex character of a mother."

For those who are unaware, Kyunki Saas Maa Bahu Beti Hoti Hai will air at 6:30 pm on ZEE TV from tonight. Talking about the early evening time slot, Manasi concluded, "I firmly believe that if the content is good, the audience will come and watch it.
