Born Sarabjeet Singh Paintal, Gufi Paintal was in the army before becoming an actor. His brother, Kanwarjit Paintal, was already a big name in Bollywood. Besides films, Gufi has also worked as a casting director and directed shows.

Earlier, talking about the actor's health condition, his nephew Hiten had told news agency PTI, "He had blood pressure and heart issues. He was keeping unwell for a while. Things got serious, so we got him to the hospital for observation. He has been in the hospital for seven to eight days. He was critical initially, but right now he is stable."

During a conversation with Zoom Digital, Punit Issa said, "I spoke to him about 3-4 days before he went to the hospital, and he said, 'Puneet, I want to do the shows ya, don't worry.' He is a fighter, of what I remember of him, at that age, the zeal to perform and to work, to stand for 3 hours in one show and then once again in another show, and with his age."

Our sincere condolences to the Paintal family.
