Junooniyatt TRP Increases, Will Ankit Gupta's Show Get EXTENSION And Not Go OFF AIR?

Junooniyatt off air date: After weeks of speculation, it was confirmed that Ankit Gupta's show would bid adieu to the audience next month. The romantic drama was heavily promoted when it launched on Colors channel earlier this year. Featuring Ankit, who made waves inside the Bigg Boss 16 house with his sizzling chemistry with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, plays the lead role in Junooniyatt.

While the show co-starring Neha Rana and Gautam Singh Vig performed well in the initial weeks, it witnessed a drop in numbers due to competition with Imlie, Bhagya Lakshmi, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and IPL 2023. The channel changed the time slot to make way for Neerja and the gamble worked for a while. However, the numbers remained stuck in 1-1.3 TVR-range.

Earlier this month, we informed our readers about Chand Jalne Laga replacing Agnisakshi. A reliable source quipped, "Colors TV is all set to spruce up the programming with the launch of Bigg Boss 17. It will be followed with Chand Jalne Laga that stars Vishal Aditya Singh and Kanika Mann. The channel is confident the two properties will bolster their prime time programming in the upcoming days. Doree will be their next big fiction launch after Chand Jalne Laga. The marketing team is leaving no stone unturned to promote the show in different sectors. From an intriguing music video to star-studded cast, Chand Jalne Laga has all the ingredients of a successful show."

Coming back to Doree, the social drama will launch from November 6 at 9pm, replacing Junooniyatt. A source close to the show told Filmibeat, "The channel had placed Udaariyaan and Junooniyatt under the scanner and one of them was supposed to go off air. The programming team finally took a call and decided to pull the plug on Junooniyatt. The show is ending due to low TRPs.".

When asked why Junooniyatt was ending when other shows like Neerja, Udaariyaan, Suhagaan had low TRPs, the khabri said, "It was a tough call but the budget of Junooniyatt is higher than other shows and it was not yielding desired results. Hence, the channel decided to axe the daily soap."

There's a buzz online that Junooniyatt might get an extension after the TRPs increased in week 42 of 2023. However, there's truth to the rumours. We asked the source about a possible extension or new time slot and he denied the conjecture.

Ankit Gupta starrer Junooniyatt will air its last episode on November 3, 2023.
