Was Projected As A P*rnstar: Kumkum Bhagya Actress Iira Went Through Breakup After Doing BOLD Scene
Best known for featuring in various popular TV shows including ZEE TV’s Kumkum Bhagya and Star Plus’ Saath Nibhana Saathiya, the TV actress is going through a rough patch ever since she did a bold scene in a web series.
TV actress Iira Soni, who has worked in several popular shows in the last ten years, is currently going through a rough patch in her personal and professional lives. Best know for playing pivotal roles in shows like Kumkum Bhagya and Saath Nibhana Saathiya, she's currently having trouble getting employment.
She believes it has something to do with a bold scene she did in the Ullu web series Woodpecker in 2021. Sadly, Iira suffered through a breakup and received criticism from her relatives.
Revealing the same, the actress told ETimes, "That experience still haunts me; I was projected as a p*rnstar, and had to deal with my name popping up on p*rn sites and the scenes of my show being featured on them!"
Iira added, "I was living my worst nightmare a year ago. My family was unhappy that I did those intimate scenes. I was being trolled and also went through a break-up. It was an emotionally draining period. We were in a long-distance relationship, where I tried my best to keep him in the loop. But since he isn't an actor, I think he couldn't understand the process of shooting such scenes, which is very mechanical. Due to a lack of understanding, our relationship ended."
Sadly, she is currently struggling to get good work. Revealing her struggle, she stated, "I was recently told that my bold image could negatively impact a show. I was shocked to hear that because I have been part of the TV industry for over a decade and done shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Desh Ki Beti Nandini and Preeto."
When asked if she regrets being part of the adult web series, the actress replied honestly that she would call it a 'bad choice' instead of a mistake. She claims not reading the entire script since it was her first web experience and she was excited to be a part of it. However, the experience has taught her an important lesson and she'll pick shows only after going through the entire script and not just on character brief given to her.
