MasterChef India 8 winner name: It's difficult to keep calm as the popular reality show MasterChef India will come to an end tonight with a blockbuster grand finale episode. The cooking-based reality show, which launched on October 16 on SonyLIV, will end its culinary journey on OTT with a highly-anticipated finale on Friday (December 8).

Before the grand finale episode premiers, here's a look at the previous winners of Masterchef India across all the seasons. Earlier this year, Nayanjyoti Saikia emerged as the winner of MasterChef India season 7 in a star-studded finale. He took home Rs 25 lakh after winning the show.

After Nayanjyoti won, Ranveer Brar said in a statement, "I think Nayanjyoti Saikia is a very well-deserving home cook. He worked behind the scenes, kept giving this season his best and eventually, there was a consistency to the dishes he presented us with. Also, there is honesty, simplicity, and purity in his food which made him win the show."

The show has got its top four finalists in Nambie Marak, Mohammed Ashiq, Dr. Rukhsaar Sayeed, Suraj Thapa. These four contestants are vying for the winner's trophy of MasterChef India 8. One of the contestants will lift the trophy and take home a cash prize after the finale episode beams on SonyLIV.

Ahead of the grand finale, Mohammad Ashiq expressed his excitement on reaching the semi-final of MasterChef India 8. "Being in the semi-finale is no less than an honour. It further motivated me to pull out all the stops to prove myself in the Birth Of A Dish Challenge. Bringing Chef Manish's creation to life was a challenging yet rewarding experience that highlighted the essence of this competition," he said in a statement as quoted as saying by IANS.

The Top 4 home cooks competed in a unique semi-finale challenge which was specially curated by Chef Manish Mehrotra. Before the elimination, the Top 5 home cooks faced Chef Manu Chandra's intense challenge in the form of 'Pressure Test'.
