MasterChef India: Meet home cook Suraj Thapa from Kolkata

Following a rigorous selection process, a select group of 12 passionate home cooks has earned the privilege of stepping into the MasterChef India kitchen.

Among the talented home cooks competing on this new season, we meet Suraj Thapa, a 28-year-old BSc graduate from the vibrant city of Kolkata. His passion for the art of cooking took root in a small room in Siliguri, where he delved into the world of flavors and culinary creativity. Coming from a humble background, Suraj found solace in the kitchen, especially during the lockdown period.

Guided by his ever-supportive mother and the treasure trove of knowledge available on YouTube, Suraj honed his culinary skills, experimenting with intricate dishes inspired by none other than the renowned Chef Ranveer Brar.
