It Was Big Risk But...: Did You Know Imlie LEAD Star QUIT Corporate Job To Become An Actor?

Imlie: There are many actors in our industry who dabble in other professions before coming into the entertainment world. Actor Zohaib Siddiqui, who made his television debut with the show Sapne Suhane Ladakpan ke, worked in a corporate firm before entering showbiz.

Currently seen as 'Dhariya' in the Star Plus show 'Imlie', Zohaib says,"Since childhood, I dreamt of becoming an actor, but due to the lack of connections and guidance I never chose the path. So, as soon as I completed my engineering, I was offered a good job and I took that. I used to work as a Mechanical Engineer in Pune before coming to Mumbai."

Revealing what made him quit his job, the actor said: "Though I was doing a well-paid job, my mind was stuck on acting. One day when my childhood friends made me realise my long unfulfilled dream of becoming an actor, I thought of giving it a try. I worked for that company for around 18 months but decided to quit my job. I knew it was a big risk, but I had to take the plunge."

Looking back, Zohaib is glad that he quit his job and got into acting. He says, "It's not easy for anyone to leave a well-balanced job and make a place in the industry. Even my journey was full of struggles, as there were many rejections and endless auditions. However, I am glad that I took the plunge to fulfill my dream of becoming an actor."

On the professional front, Zohaib is known for his role in shows like Sadda Haq and Sapne Suhane Ladakpan ke. Before making waves with his character of Dhairya in Star Plus' Imlie, he featured in mytho shows like Karmaphal Daata Shani, Radha Krishna and a historical drama like Suryaputra Karan.
