Sumbul Touqeer injury: TV buffs have started the countdown for Kavya Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon as the show will hit the airwaves from next week on Sony Entertainment Television. Starring Sumbul Touqeer and Mishkat Varma, the daily soap will showcase the story of civil servants. While other fiction shows are focusing on love triangles and kitchen politics, Kavya will narrate the story of a girl, who strikes a balance between her married and professional life.

KAVYA STORYLINE

Sumbul Touqeer, who shot to fame after playing the role of Imlie, is making her return to the fiction space with Kavya. She has maintained that she didn't talk to real-life IAS officers to prep up for her role but she watched a lot of interviews.

The story will focus on how a man will support his wife and emerge as a strong pillar for her when her former partner decides to part ways with her as she refuses to sacrifice her career.

A source earlier exclusively told Filmibeat, "The channel is confident that Kavya will strike a chord with the audience. It is the next big launch on Sony TV after KBC 15 and Barsatein Mausam Pyaar Ka. The leading GEC has placed its bet on a show that promises to share an important message in the society."

WHEN SUMBUL TOUQEER WAS INJURED ON KAVYA SET

Did you know Sumbul got injured while shooting for the show? Mishkat Varma, who attended the press conference for Kavya, revealed that she hurt her left high during the shoot. He said that they shot an interesting bonfire sequence but his co-star was injured as there were several bats in the vicinity.

"Humne bahut hi interesting bonfire track shoot kiya tha. Hamare aas paas chamgadar the. Sumbul hurt herself once during the shoot. She hurt her left thigh, and she couldn't even walk properly. Toh uss dina thoda sa packup jaldi hua, hamara nhi uska. But she came back strongly out of it," Mishkat Varma told Telly Bytes.

SUMBUL TOUQEER ON HER MOTHER'S REACTION

The Imlie actress shared her mom's reaction to her new show on Sony TV. She said that her new mother has seen her work and she likes it. Sharing her sweet reaction, the Bigg Boss 16 star told ETimes, "She is also very proud of me. She is not from the industry or anywhere related to the industry. Lekin unko bahut acha laga. She has seen me in Bigg Boss 16, Imlie. Main unko janti thi, unko bhi bahut acha laga. Mere ghar pe sabhi khush hai."
