EXCLUSIVE! Niyati Fatnani Opens On Her Different Look In Dear Ishq, Shares Similarity Between Ginni & Asmita

Niyati Fatnani received praises from all the corners for her impressive performance in the Star Bharat show Channa Mereya. The audience showered the Nazar actress for her phenomenal portrayal of Ginni, a Sikhni Girl. The diva is now back with a bang with the romantic series Dear Ishq. The web show, which premiered on January 26, 2023 on Disney+ Hotstar, has been trending on Twitter since the past few days.

For her new show, Niyati Fatnani has donned a new avatar. Filmibeat caught up with the talented actress over a cup of coffee, interacting about her character and different look.

Talking about her character, Niyati exclusively told Filmibeat, "I play Asmita Roy, a Bengali girl who is an award-winning literary editor. She is a talented girl who is independent and confident. She loves to voice her opinions and can't tolerate any kind of injustice around her. She is also a fan of classic writers and storytellers like Rabindranath Tagore and Premchand."

Niyati also spoke about her experience of getting into this new look. She said, "I donned the look of a Sikhni girl in my last TV show but my avatar for this web series is completely different. From wearing salvar suits to modern wear, my outfits have completely changed. And I'm quite liking my new look. As an actor, whenever I try something different, there's a breath of fresh air in it which brings newness to everything."

When asked about the similarities between her last character Ginni and her new character Asmita, Niyati quipped, "The only common element Ginni and Asmita share is their faces. Her characteristics are completely different because she is more bold and confident. This makes me feel really excited as the new character gives me a fresh challenge."

On the professional front, Niyati has featured in hit shows Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhage and D4- Get up and Dance. It was her role in Nazar that made the actress a household name. The supernatural show created ripples at 11pm slot on Star Plus.

Niyati was also seen in a cameo appearance in the Hotstar series, Aashiqana, which was produced by Gul Khan. The actress recently made a special appearance in Ishq Mein Ghayal, which launched earlier this month on Colors channel.
