Anupamaa update: Paras Kalnawat set several tongues wagging when he said that 80 percent of the cast of Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna's show will quit if they had an opportunity. His remark left the fans shocked as it sparked rumours about troubles on the set of Rajan Shahi's show.

PARAS KALNAWAT'S REASON FOR LEAVING ANUPAMAA

When the actor conducted a Q&A session on Instagram, a fan asked him to share the reason behind making an exit from Rupali Ganguly's top-rated drama. He said that he left the show because of better opportunity, giving a reference of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10.

Paras was fired from Anupamaa for breaking the terms of the contract. Rajan Shahi and the production house terminated his services as he took up the dance-based reality show on a rival channel.

The Dil Hi Toh Hai actor, while responding to the Instagram user, said that 80 percent of the cast would want to quit the show if given an opportunity. His remark captured the attention of the netizens.

"I would always be thankful to the makers for giving me such great show. But yaaron kahin pohochne ke liye kahin se nikalna zaroori hota hai and I believe I'm at a much better and peaceful place. Honestly speaking, 80% of the cast would want to exit if given an opportunity. Risk lene ki aur sahi ke liye ladne ki taaqat har kisi me nahi hoti," Paras wrote.

NIDHI SHAH, ASHISH MEHROTRA REACT TO PARAS KALNAWAT'S COMMENT

As expected, Paras' remark created ripples on the internet. Both Nidhi Shah and Aashish Mehrotra defended the show and the makers, mentioning that the cast is enjoying and no one would leave a show that is placed at number one since the past three years.

Aashish Mehrotra, who played Paras' elder brother in Anupamaa, laughed at his comment and called it 'really funny'. He told Hindustan Times that if the energy behind the screen is negative, it will reflect on the quality of the show.

The actor expressed his displeasure with Paras's comment and said that if someone is walking out of Anupamaa and saying bad things, it means either he/she is not happy outside or he/she is unhappy with people who are happy.

While Nidhi and Aashish didn't agree to Paras' comments, the Kundali Bhagya actor posted a cryptic note on social media. As his post went viral on the internet, fans wondered if he took a dig at his Anupamaa co-stars.

"I have guts to speak up the truth and just to be in somebody's good books I won't ever give a false statement to the media or write about it on my social media. I've never been into the asslicking business just like few I know of. Secret to success is not topping the charts it's being happy within. Peace," the actor wrote on his Instagram story.
