When Ankit Gupta got eliminated from BB 16, fans expressed their displeasure on social media. They requested the makers to bring him back as a wildcard contestant, mentioning that it was an unfair eviction. As the housemates voted the Udaariyaan actor out, his fandom believed that he deserved to return to the show. After his exit, the fans supported Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and made her the second runner-up.

The actor, who is rumoured to be joining Isha Malviya in Bigg Boss 17, opened up about his bond with Priyankit. He said that he is very close to both of them.

"Ankit bhai jab bhi bombay aate hai, main unhe lena jaata hu. Mujhe unse dil se pyaar hai. Iss baar unko chodne nahi ja paya kyunki main mandir gaya tha.
