On
Rakhi:
Raksha
Bandhan,
commonly
referred
to
as
Rakhi,
is
a
Hindu
festival
that
commemorates
the
cherished
bond
between
siblings.
This
celebration
takes
place
on
the
final
day
of
the
lunar
month
of
Sawan
(Shravan)
in
the
Hindu
calendar.
The
term
Raksha
Bandhan
originates
from
Sanskrit
and
signifies
the
"bond
of
protection."
WHY
WE
CELEBRATE
RAKSHA
BANDHAN?
Each
year,
sisters
adorn
their
brothers'
wrists
with
a
ceremonial
thread
called
rakhi,
symbolizing
their
commitment
to
safeguarding
each
other.
In
return,
brothers
pledge
to
stand
by
and
safeguard
their
sisters
throughout
their
lives.
This
year,
Raksha
Bandhan
falls
on
August
30
and
31.
According
to
the
Drik
Panchang,
the
dual
dates
are
attributed
to
Bhadra
Kaal,
a
period
in
which
traditional
Raksha
Bandhan
rituals
are
discouraged.
As
a
result,
the
occasion
can
be
observed
on
these
two
specified
dates.
During
this
festive
day,
sisters
affectionately
tie
rakhis
onto
their
brothers'
wrists,
offering
prayers
for
their
well-being
and
success.
The
celebration
is
further
heightened
as
siblings
exchange
sweets
and
presents,
adding
an
extra
layer
of
excitement
to
the
festival.
ASHI

ON
HER
RAKHSHA
BANDHAN
PLANS
TV
actress
Ashi
Singh,
who
currently
essays
the
lead
role
of
Sumeet
in
the
popular
ZEE
TV
show
Meet,
recently
opened
up
about
her
Raksha
Bandhan
plans.
She
said,
"Every
year,
me
and
my
brother
celebrate
Rakshabandhan
together
and
this
year
too,
we
plan
the
same.
This
day
is
really
very
special
for
both
of
us
as
I
get
to
make
demands
and
he
has
to
fulfill
it.
My
brother
is
a
chef
and
I
love
to
eat,
so
he
always
ensures
to
cook
my
favourite
dish
on
Rakshabandhan.
This
year,
I
will
be
mostly
shooting,
so
will
tie
him
the
rakhi
either
before
going
there
or
after
returning
from
the
shoot.
That's
how
we
will
celebrate
it
this
year."
Here's
wishing
everyone
a
very
happy
Raksha
Bandhan!
