Sameer Khakhar Death: Noted actor Sameer Khakhar, known for playing a Khopdi in the DD serial Nukkad, passed away on Wednesday morning in Mumbai. He was 71. Khakhar was suffering from a respiratory illness and died due to multiple organ failure. As soon as the news of his demise broke, celebrities from the television and film industries took to social media to pay their last respects to the veteran actor. Sameer, who has been in the entertainment industry for over 38 years, has worked in several popular TV serials and movies. And one of his co-stars, Surbhi Chandna, too remembered the late actor and paid her tribute by sharing an unseen video of the two.

Remembering Sameer Khakhar, Surbhi Chandna took to her Instagram Stories and recalled the best times they both shared. She shared an unseen video where Surbhi and Sameer seem to be celebrating something and feeding cake to each other. The unseen video was from their TV serial, Sanjivani 2. Sharing the post, Surbhi wrote, "So lucky to have shared such good times with you, Sameer sir, you were a rockstar."

For the unfamiliar, Sameer Khakhar played a small supporting role of Guddu Mathur in the second season of popular drama serial Sanjivani.

Informing ETimes about the veteran actor's demise, his younger brother Ganesh Khakhar said, "He was suffering from respiratory issues, then he went to sleep and went unconscious. We called the doctor and he suggested that we admit him in the hospital. His heart was not working properly and had urinary issues too. He was kept on ventilator, gradually he collapsed at 4:30 am this morning." He was admitted to MM Hospital in Borivali, where he breathed his last while his funeral took place on Wednesday morning. Sameer was last seen in Shahid Kapoor's web series Farzi.

Meanwhile, Surbhi is currently seen in the comedy show Sherdil Shergill opposite Dheeraj Dhoopar. Apart from TV serials, Chandna has appeared in music videos including Bepanah Pyaar, Ho Gaya Hai Pyaar, and Bepanah Ishq.
