EXCLUSIVE! My Father Was Worried How 14-year-old Girl Will...: Shweta Rastogi On Starting Career As Teenager

Actress Shweta Rastogi has impressed the audience with her acting skills in many projects. She is popularly known for her role of Radha in the hit mytho show Shri Krishna by Ramanand Sagar. From essaying the role of Shatrughan Sinha's sister in Khudgarz to winning hearts as Rekha's daughter in Khoon Bhari Maang, she has played memorable characters in her career. The actress also essayed the character of Madhuri's younger version in Parinda and Shilpa Shirodkar's sister in the movie Kishen Kanhaiya.

Apart from this, the actress has also worked in the Tamil industry. She did films like Velluchamy and Dharmchakram there, but post that she came to Mumbai and started working here. In an exclusive chat with us, Shweta reveals what made her leave the Tamil industry.

Talking about her journey in the Tamil industry and how it ended up, she says, "In the initial days of my career, when I was 14 years old, I was offered a Tamil project. My father was a little perplexed about how could a 14-year-old girl act like a heroine? However, when the team told my father about the project and the need for the script, he was convinced. I did that film and after completion of it, I did a second film. Post that, I was offered a contract for 5 films by a production house but things didn't work out. So, I took a decision to leave the Tamil industry and eventually came back to Mumbai."

Lastly, talking about the experience of working in the Tamil industry, the actress says, "Working in the Tamil industry was an enriching and learning experience. I do believe that an actor should always experiment and try new things in their career so that they have no qualms in life. Though I didn't continue working in the Tamil industry, I am happy that I got the chance to work in that industry."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shweta has been a part of projects like Kesar, in which she played the role of Kesar's daughter-Muskan, and essayed parallel lead Paro in the show Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein. Apart from this, she is known for her shows like Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki and Stree Teri Kahani, in which she played the lead role.
