They are co-parenting their 18-year-old daughter Ashi. The news of Shubhangi Atre's separation from her husband has spread like wildfire on the internet. Shubhangi, while talking to a leading daily, revealed that she and Piyush tried their best to save their marriage. However, things didn't work out. She stated that they realised that they couldn't sort out their differences and issues and hence, decided to give each other the required space.

Shubhangi said that her family is her top priority, adding that when a relationship of many years ends, a person is bound to get affected. "I was also affected, but we had to take this step, and I have come to terms with it," the Kasturi actress told Times Of India.

Shubhangi also confirmed that she and her estranged husband have remained on cordial terms for their daughter Ashi. She revealed that Peeyush Poorey comes to visit their daughter on Sundays, adding that she never wishes to see her daughter deprived of her father's love.
