has
found
itself
in
hot
water
for
allegedly
airing
inappropriate
content.
The
National
Commission
for
Protection
of
Child
Rights
(NCPCR)
has
demanded
the
removal
of
a
particular
episode
from
the
show.

MAKERS
Super
Dancer:
Chapter
3,
which
premiered
in
2019
witnessed
some
spectacular
performances
from
talented
young
contestants
and
it
had
become
a
family
favorite.
The
esteemed
judges
panel
comprised
Bollywood
celebrities
Shilpa
Shetty,
Geeta
Kapoor,
and
Anurag
Basu.
However,
the
show
has
now
come
under
scrutiny
for
alleged
'sexually
explicit'
content
during
a
specific
episode.
The
NCPCR,
responsible
for
safeguarding
children's
rights
in
India,
has
issued
a
stern
notice
against
Sony
Pictures
Networks
accusing
it
of
broadcasting
content
deemed
inappropriate
and
harmful
to
minors.
The
commission
said
a
video
going
viral
on
social
media,
from
a
segment
of
the
show
shows
judges
asking
a
minor
contestant
'inappropriate
and
sexually
explicit
questions'
about
his
parents
while
on
stage.
In
its
notice,
the
child
rights
protection
body
has
demanded
that
the
makers
remove
the
particular
episode
from
all
platforms
immediately.
The
notice
from
NCPCR
read,
"The
Commission
has
come
across
a
video
on
Twitter
from
your
kid's
dance
show
called
Super
Dancer
Chapter
3
which
was
aired
on
Sony
Entertainment
Television,
wherein
it
is
seen
that
the
judges
on
the
show
were
asking
the
minor
child
vulgar
and
sexually
explicit
questions
regarding
his
parents
on
stage."
NCPCR
SEEKS
AN
EXPLANATION
FOR
POSING
INAPPROPRIATE
QUESTIONS
TO
MINOR
CONTESTANTS
The
NCPCR
has
further
asked
the
show's
organizers
to
explain
why
such
inappropriate
questions
were
directed
toward
a
minor
participant
in
a
children's
dance
show.
The
officials
have
also
requested
the
channel
to
not
stream
such
explicit
content
in
the
future.
The
makers
are
yet
to
issue
a
statement
in
the
matter.
