Shailesh
Lodha
Wins
Lawsuit:
Shailesh
Lodha,
who
played
a
titular
role
in
TV
show
'Taarak
Mehta
Ka
Ooltah
Chashmah,'
has
won
a
lawsuit
against
the
show's
producer,
Asit
Modi.
The
lawsuit
was
filed
due
to
unpaid
dues.
Media
reports
suggest
that
Asit
Modi
will
pay
a
settlement
amount
of
₹1.05
crore
to
Shailesh
Lodha.
Shailesh
Lodha
essayed
the
titular
writer
in
the
popular
comedy
show
for
14
successful
years.
However,
he
decided
quit
the
show
last
year.
The
lawsuit
was
initiated
by
Shailesh
after
the
producers
failed
to
clear
his
pending
payments.
With
the
consent
of
both
parties'
legal
representatives,
the
matter
has
now
been
resolved.
In
response
to
his
legal
triumph,
Shailesh
Lodha
expressed
that
his
fight
was
not
solely
about
money,
but
about
seeking
justice.
A
report
in
ETimes
suggests
that
Shailesh
said,
"This
fight
was
never
about
the
money.
It
was
about
seeking
justice
and
self-respect.
I
feel
like
I
have
won
a
battle
and
I'm
happy
that
the
truth
has
prevailed." He
also
talked
vaguely
about
the
problem
that
may
have
caused
his
exit
from
the
show
and
told
the
daily
that
the
producer
asked
Shailesh
to
sign
some
papers
with
clauses
such
as
not
being
allowed
to
talk
to
the
media.
"I
didn't
bow
down
to
the
arm-twisting.
Why
would
I
sign
any
papers
to
get
my
own
money?"
Apart
from
his
role
in
Taarak
Mehta
Ka
Ooltah
Chashmah,
Shailesh
Lodha
has
been
part
of
other
shows
like
Comedy
Circus,

Waah,
and

Baat
Hai.
Taarak
Mehta
Ka
Ooltah
Chashmah
remains
one
of
the
most
popular
and
widely-watched
comedy
shows
on
TV,
having
been
on
the
air
since
2008.
Following
Shailesh
Lodha's
departure
in
April
2022,
the
role
of
Taarak
Mehta
was
taken
over
by

Shroff.
