Taarak
Mehta
Ka
Ooltah
Chashmah
Controversy:
In
recent
developments
surrounding
the
popular
sitcom
Taarak
Mehta
Ka
Ooltah
Chashmah,
yet
another
actor
has
come
forward
accusing
the
show's
makers
of
disrespectful
behavior
and
harassment.
Actress
Priya
Ahuja,
known
for
her
role
as
Rita
reporter
on
the
show,
has
spoken
out
in
a
recent
interview,
stating
that
she
was
mistreated
by
the
producers
and
expressing
support
for
others
who
have
spoken
against
them.
Over
the
past
few
weeks,
several
actors
from
the
sitcom,
including
Monika
Bhadoriya
and
Jennifer
Mistry
Beniwal,
have
made
claims
of
harassment
and
mistreatment.
Beniwal
even
filed
a
sexual
harassment
complaint
against
the
producers,
including
Asit
Kumarr
Modi.
PRIYA
AHUJA
ON
JENNIFER
MISTRY-ASIT
MODI
CONTROVERSY
In
an
interview
with
ETimes,
Priya
Ahuja
addressed
the
issue
and
revealed
that
artists
do
experience
mental
harassment
when
they
work
on
Taarak
Mehta.
Priya,
known
for
her
portrayal
of
Rita
reporter
on
the
show
for
several
years,
also
discussed
how
her
character's
prominence
decreased
after
her
marriage
and
despite
several
messages,
Modi
never
bothered
to
update
her
about
her
track
in
Taarak
Mehta
Ka
Ooltah
Chashmah.
Revealing
the
same,
Priya
said,
"I
sometimes
wonder
I
am
a
director's
wife
who
worked
with
them
for
14
years
and
they
never
gave
me
the
basic
respect.
So,
now
the
people
who
are
coming
out
and
speaking
like
Monika
Bhadoriya
they
are
not
wrong
I
feel.
Because
they
never
respected
me
to
at
least
reply
to
my
messages
and
queries.
Mujhe

Priya
mentioned
that
although
she
didn't
address
these
issues
earlier,
the
insinuation
that
she
should
not
work
because
she
was
a
director's
wife
did
bother
her.
